We aim to approach our work with kindness and consideration in all that we do and our impact on our environment and community is no different. We deeply value social responsibility and strive to follow ethical standards, eco friendly practices and maintain our integrity to do good by all.
Below are ways in which we action this in our work to be the most responsible company we possibly can.
To guarantee fabrics are free of harmful substances including Azo colourants, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol we have partnered with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified manufacturers for our to create out beautiful sleepwear and accessories for our customers to enjoy.
The creation and manufacturing of our garments is deeply important to us, as are the rights and conditions provided to those who we work with. For over 20 years we have worked with our WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) certified supplier to create healthy working hours, safe, hygienic workplaces that provide fair wages and protect against forced labour, unfair conditions and do not prohibit child labour of any kind. We are committed to transparency in all areas of our business and production and will ensure that we are doing right by our customers and workers always.
Being in the privileged position that we are, it is of utmost importance that we find productive ways to give back to our community and champion women from all walks of life as we do in our company. We have partnered with i=Change to donate $1 from each online sale to one of our three chosen charities that you will be able to choose from when you shop with us.
We have also chosen to partner with the following charity organizations:
A charity dedicated to providing women and children with a safe place to stay and an opportunity to rebuild their lives. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, this has resulted in many women facing increased risk for homelessness or domestic violence. This is why we wanted to help increase awareness and support the shelter to ensure that they receive the resources and help possible to help any woman and child seek refuge properly and quickly without needing to be turned away due to the lack of beds or help available.
We discovered that in Australia one in eight adults and one in six children do not have adequate access to essential clothing. Not only does this have a dire impact in protecting them from the elements, but it can also prevent them from reaching their full potential. It can rid them of their confidence, something that is deeply important to their sense of self and ability to find resilience. Thread Together recognises this and works to provide new clothes to those in need. This includes women escaping domestic violence, homeless adults and children and refugees. New clothing is also provided to the long-term unemployed to help create equal standing when going to an interview, those coming out of long-term health care, and many who are rebuilding their lives after being devastated by the droughts, the recent bushfires and now the pandemic.
We believe in supporting charities that protect the rights and safety of people regardless of gender and the Full Stop Foundation is committed to this task. They provide support through online, face to face and telephone counselling for anyone who has experienced violence. With a worrying increase in violence against women due to the pandemic, Full Stop Foundation act as key fundraisers for Rape and Domestic Violence Services Australia, a cause that requires community support now more than ever.
It is our responsibility to aid these charities however we can and we ask that you read about and show your support for them however possible.
