Community Support
Being in the privileged position that we are, it is of utmost importance that we find productive ways to give back to our community and champion women from all walks of life as we do in our company. We have partnered with i=Change to donate $1 from each online sale to one of our three chosen charities that you will be able to choose from when you shop with us.
Thank you to everyone who has shopped with us, we've been able to donate a total of $7,476* to our three charity organisations. You can keep track of our donations here.
Women’s Community Shelters
During these times of economic challenges, Women's Community Shelters is experiencing a 25% increase in inquiries for safe accommodation for women and children, who are homeless or escaping domestic violence.
Existing services are at full capacity, with more than 50% of women seeking shelter turned away due to a lack of beds.
Across Australia, around 56,000 women are homeless each night, many with young children. Women unable to access shelters are left vulnerable, disconnected from community and support networks.
Women’s Community Shelters is dedicated to providing women and children with a safe place to stay and an opportunity to rebuild their lives.
Thread Together
The clothes we choose to wear not only protect us from the elements but reflect and affect our confidence and self-esteem.
In Australia one in eight adults and one in six children do not have adequate access to essential clothing. Circumstances and disadvantage should not prevent people from accessing clothing to allow them to realise their full potential.
Thread Together addresses this uncomfortable truth by providing new clothes to those in need. This includes women escaping domestic violence, homeless adults and children, and those who just arrived in the country seeking refuge.
New clothing is also provided to the long-term unemployed, seeking equal standing when going to an interview, those coming out of long-term health care, and many who are rebuilding their lives after being devastated by the droughts, the recent bushfires and now the pandemic.
Full Stop Foundation
2.7 million women have experienced violence (physical and/or sexual) by an intimate partner or family member since the age of 15.
Frontline sexual, domestic and family violence services are at capacity with demand for trauma-specialist support and counselling increasing year-on-year.
Women who aren't able to access trauma-specialist support are at increased risk of being subject to escalating violence.
Full Stop Australia is one of the oldest sexual, domestic and family violence response and recovery services in the country and is dedicated to providing free trauma-specialist support and counselling to thousands of women impacted by violence and abuse. Full Stop Australia provides 24/7 continuing care from crisis through to recovery.
It is our responsibility to aid these charities however we can and we ask that you read about and show your support for them however possible.
