5 Essentials To Getting A Good Night's Sleep - Magnolia Lounge

Are you having trouble getting a good night’s sleep every night?

Here at Magnolia Lounge we like to think we are the sleep experts, not only are we home to Australia’s softest sleepwear, we also “sleep test” our entire sleepwear collection of Pyjamas, PJ Pants, Shorts, Dressing Gowns, and Nighties for women to ensure that our sleepwear will help create a peaceful slumber.

A restless night’s sleep can be due to many factors including stress, a busy lifestyle or even just poor sleep hygiene but don’t worry, here are 5 of our favourite ways to help get a good night’s sleep.

1. Good Quality Sheets

When it comes to good quality sheets, look for soft, breathable sheets that are made from natural fibres. They will help regulate your temperature, keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.

Our favourite sheets are made from bamboo which is silky soft, cooling and gets softer with every wash, cotton which is naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, soft and durable and linen which is the strongest natural fibre in the world, breathable and heat-conductive and easy to take care of (we love the rumpled, lived-in look).

2. Comfortable Sleepwear

Just like your sheets, when it comes to sleepwear you want to look for PJs that are made from high-quality fabrics which feel soft and silky against the skin. Here at Magnolia Lounge our beautiful range of sleepwear styles use only the softest, moisture-wicking and eco-friendly fabrics.

Our breathable viscose pyjamas such as our Peony Sunrise range are lightweight, breathable and feel cool and silky against the skin.

Looking for something for the cooler months? Our Viscose Cotton Sateen fabric which is used in our Water Floral Collection perfectly combines all the goodness of cotton and viscose: durable, breathable and absorbent yet incredibly warm and soft to the touch.

And we can’t forget our knit fabrics which are used in our Floral Lace Collection! You’ve never felt a fabric like this, our soft and stretchy knits are made from the dreamiest of silken fabric blends that we know you’ll want to live in.

3. Essential Oils for Relaxation & Better Sleep

Help create a sleep-inducing atmosphere in your bedroom with essential oils such as Lavender, Roman Chamomile, and Clary Sage.

Aromatherapy uses the powerful sense of smell and they can be used to calm and relax the mind and body, preparing you for sleep. You use an aromatherapy slumber blend in a diffuser or spray an aromatherapy mist in the air or on your pillow to help encourage sleep.

4. A Dark Room - Light Affects Sleep

Light can disrupt your sleep so a dark room will help you fall asleep and stay asleep. You can use blackout curtains to achieve this or for an easier option, an oversized sleep mask will also do the trick. We like silk eye masks are they are soft and comfortable against the skin so they won’t disrupt your sleep.

5. Avoid Technology - Gadgets impact sleep quality

Research has shown that technology use before bed can create poor sleep that affects our health and wellbeing. For good sleep hygiene, make your bedroom a technology-free room. This means no television in the bedroom and we know this one is hard, but put your mobile down and avoid using it an hour before you go to bed. Try reading a book in bed instead, this will keep you entertained and also help to encourage sleep.
